Friday Five: Favorite Haiku Pickup Lines from Volume 1

It’s book launch day, y’all!

Tonight’s the book launch event for my first poetry collection — Haiku Pickup Lines: Volume 1. It’s being hosted by Page & Post, a delightful papergoods shop in our West Greenville neighborhood. I couldn’t be more excited to be a local author and illustrator reading my own self-published book at a local bookstore a short walk from my front door. It’s like something out of Brigadoon, but we just live here all the time.

   So on a scale from
   one to America how
   free are you tonight?
   
   

2. Stargazing
   Your celestial
   body — moonlit view. I’d like
   to wax that crescent.

   I know that milk does
   a body good, but damn, girl,
   how much did you drink?
   
   

4. Customer Loyalty
   Bread, milk, apples, cheese,
   sugar, please, I wanna bag
